Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My father is undergoing treatment for amyloidosis and has taken 12 doses of Bortezomib, Dexamethasone, and Cyclophosphamide. His weaknesses are increasing gradually, and have swellings in his legs and other places. How do we tackle the issue of weaknesses and swellings?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have checked all the attached documents (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). The treatment he receives is suitable.

Most probably, the swelling he suffers is due to extra fluid in his body.

To identify the cause:

Please provide me with the liver function tests, renal function tests, and echocardiography.

Is there swelling in both legs?

My advice:

Torasemide 10 mg tablet once per day in the morning for the swelling. After consulting your physician.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
