Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from anxiety. I had chest pain which lasted for a whole day when my pulse rate started rising. I am constantly thinking about my future, and holding a book also boosts my stress level and increases that pounding, heavy, burning chest pain, and I want to consider medication so that studying can be peaceful. I never consulted a doctor, and I did not tell my parents because I was afraid they would think I am over exaggerating. Also, I get digestive issues. Kindly suggest some medicines help me with this situation.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I suggest some medications for anxiety, like tablet Zoloft (Sertraline) 50 mg once daily after consulting your physician. But it will take nearly one month for the effects to appear. Also, you need to involve your family as their support is important in the management. Also, I suggest tablet Inderal (Propranolol) 10 mg, one tablet before exams and on other occasions, which will precipitate anxiety.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
