Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female. I do not know what is going on with me. Before a month, I had my exams and I got freaked out due to it. I have tightness in my stomach and it makes me hard to breathe. While I am spending time with my friends, I do not notice it or it does not feel tight. But when I am alone, I feel the tightness and it makes me hard to eat. Sometimes, I seem to be fine and but I feel constantly bloated. I am scared whether there is something wrong with me. I also get heart palpitations. I am scared regarding my oxygen levels as they seem to be declining slowly. I searched online and got a diagnosis of silent hypoxia. I am freaking out due to this also. I am taking iron tablets for anemia. Kindly suggest.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You seem to have anxiety. During anxiety attacks, you can have racing of heart, sweaty and bloating sensation. Normally it does not stay for a long time. You can have another possibility of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. In this, your heart seems to be racing in an irregular fashion. You seem to be anemic as you are taking iron tablets. Anemia can also lead to palpitations sometimes and taking iron tablets can cause a bloating sensation.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
