Patient's Query

Hi,

Daily morning between 3:30 AM to 5:30 AM, I am getting severe back pain. It includes the muscle on both the right and left sides of the spine. Please help.

Answered by Dr. Prathish Kumar

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I have gone through your description of symptoms.

Give me some more information about your issue-

1. What is your job?

2. Does your job involve more physical work?

3. Do you feel this pain anytime during the day while working?

4. Where do you sleep? On a bed or the floor?

5. Do you go to the gym?

6. Do you experience any pain in the spine itself, particularly while bending forward or lifting something?

Your symptoms look like muscle sprain due to improper position while sleeping or improper surface over which you lie down.

Please give me more information as I have asked above to guide you better.

I suggest you take the following medications for symptomatic relief-

1. Tablet Zerodol-MR (Aceclofenac and Tizanidine) twice daily after food for five days.

2. Pain relieving spray (Diclofenac, Diethylamine, Methyl Salicylate, menthol, and linseed oil) for local application over the muscles.

Thank you.

Probable diagnosis

The probable diagnosis is muscle sprain.

Treatment plan

Take tablet Zerodol-MR (Aceclofenac and Tizanidine) twice daily after food for five days and pain relieving spray (Diclofenac, Diethylamine, Methyl Salicylate, menthol, and linseed oil) for local application.

Patient's Query

Hi, doctor,

I have an IT job, and I work from home. My job does not involve any physical work. I do not feel this pain anytime during the day while working. I feel the same pain when I sleep on the bed or floor. I do not go to the gym. I feel light pain randomly at any time of day. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

With your answers, I would like to give some suggestions-

1. You must not sleep on the floor.

2. You must try sleeping on a soft foam mattress for a few days.

3. You must consult an orthopedist for spinal pain.

For now, you may continue the medications.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
