Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My niece is five years old now. She has difficulty in talking to new people. She becomes excessively angry at times and shows violent behaviors like scratching and kicking. She prefers to watch videos of old people and imitates them. When she paints or plays, suddenly becomes angry and destroys them. Otherwise, she is normal, but sometimes she shows these behaviors. Please advise.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Every child is different and has a different temperament. If your niece milestones are normal, she can have a proper eye to eye contact while talking, she can make friends, and she will not have restrictive and repetitive behavior. She has a behavior issue. She does not have the behavior whatever I mentioned, and we need to assess her in detail. Prenatal, natal and her childhood history is required. When she shows such tantrums, try to handle her with authority and do not show aggression and plea in front of her. Give rewards for good behavior and appreciate her when she is doing good things. It will help enormously.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
