Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a black patch on my penis tip and no other issues. I thought it is normal and will go in some time, but it does not. Please provide some solution.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. I will help you with your concern. Such black patches could be due to multiple causes like warts, moles, and many more. I need to see this patch to make a definitive diagnosis so I can suggest your treatment accordingly. Please revert with a photo. Do not worry; pictures will be confidential. Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor, for your reply.

I have attached a photo for your reference. Will it get better?

Answered by Dr. Deepti Shukla

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I went through your photo (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I could see black patches and also some white patches. See, black patches could be just penile melanosis. It is a harmless benign condition that can occur due to multiple causes. It is only a cosmetic concern. But white patches are also there, so I need to rule out vitiligo or lichen sclerosis also. Do you have itching over glans penis? Do you have any burning sensation? From when do you have these patches, both black and white? Please revert as this follow-up is free. Thanks and regards.

There is no pain or itching. Please advise I am scared.

Answered by Dr. Deepti Shukla

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not be scared. As you have no symptoms, then nothing to worry about now. I am giving you two creams for three weeks, and we will assess again after three weeks to see how much improvement is there, and we will decide further management accordingly. Use Tacroz (Tacrolimus) 0.03% cream apply in small quantity at night for three weeks and Cutisoft (Hydrocortisone) cream apply in small quantity in the morning for three weeks. Please review after three weeks. Till then, do not worry. Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
