How can I treat bleeding gums on my bottom teeth?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I brush regularly and floss; I even started oil pulling with coconut oil. My bottom gums feel really tender and bleed over the smallest thing.

How can I manage it?

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I think you have injured the gum not because of trauma from the coconut but because of force. Now either there is calculus (hard deposit) or you have got the periodontal infection. You need to take medication like Ofloxacin and Ornidazole combination at least for four to five days. Also, you need a scaling if you feel there is calculus.

You can check with a dentist for further evaluation because sometimes there are chances of fracture too.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
