Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old male, and I am afraid of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). I have a blister in my mouth, and it hurts a lot. I had protected sexual intercourse two weeks ago. Should I be worried about HIV or AIDS?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The chances of transmission of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) by protected intercourse with an HIV-positive person are almost negligible if the condom is used properly. From the reports attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), I can see that the ulcer is non-specific and might be due to stress, infection, or injury. I suggest you consult your doctor for further examination and management.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
