Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Can I get a bone graft in preparation for a subsequent dental implant while I am undergoing Invisalign treatment, or should I wait until the Invisalign treatment is over? A bone graft can take up to a year to heal, so I thought I could get a head start on it now. But, of course, if the Invisalign treatment negatively affects the bone graft healing, then should I not do it?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have gone through your question I can understand your concern.
If you can, please upload the radiograph you had done before so that I can see how much bone is there and how much augmentation is needed through a bone graft, also where bone graft is needed. Yes, there are certain issues because of tooth movements that may hamper the healing of bone grafts if it comes in the way of movement. Upload an image of the radiograph and the region of the mouth where a graft is needed. Please make sure orthodontic appliances are removed when the picture is taken.
Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further questions.
Regards.
