Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have two big bumps on the head of my penis. One came a week ago, and the second bump came about two days ago. I went for a syphilis test today, and the reports say that I am not reactive. I have attached the pictures and a copy of the reports below. I am not convinced because the symptoms are like the primary stage of syphilis. However, I frequently scratch my body. My inner thighs, under my knee, and my ears, but the rashes do not appear when I scratch. What could this be? Please help.
Hello.
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your concerns in detail, and I will surely help you.
I went through the reports, and I have also seen the pictures attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity).
I strongly suspect you have an STD (sexually transmitted disease), particularly syphilis. Syphilis tests can be negative in the initial stages of the disease. The best way is to get a VDRL (venereal disease research laboratory test) of blood or secretions of the lesion on the genital region. That will give you a confirmed diagnosis. Apart from this, treatment for donovanosis (a genital ulcerative disease caused by bacteria) and buboes (painful swellings in the thighs and groin) is given to patients with suspected STDs. It is very easy to treat, and treatment is only for 14 days. You can contact your local physician for further evaluation or me. You will be completely fine, and you need the correct diagnosis and treatment.
Hope this helps.
Kindly revert in case of further queries.
Thank you.
