Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I use two contraceptive methods. I have the DIU (Mirena and also take pills (Primabella). I have some questions. Is it true that both methods combined are dangerous for my health? Can I get pregnant easier because one method annuls the other? Yesterday, I vomited four hours after I took the pill. Should I take another or not?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Mirena is a great contraceptive and will not require any other supplement. Kindly avoid taking the pill. These symptoms could be because of hormonal changes. Both the medication will cause hormonal fluctuations. So, please take a call. Do not take any medication further.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I did not vomit because of the pills. I have a cold and the air-conditioner of the university made me start coughing, and it was so hard that I vomited. I want to get it clearly. Do you recommend me not to take pills with the Mirena? What does hormonal fluctuation mean? Could I get pregnant?

Answered by Dr. Neha Rathod

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, I mean you need not take any pill when you are on Mirena. Hormonal fluctuation means changes in the normal hormonal pattern in the body. As you are on Mirena, there is no chance of pregnancy. So relax and do not worry.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
