Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I recovered from COVID-19 two months back. I still have a CT score of 7/25 and D-Dimer at 950. The doctor prescribed Pirfenex 1200 mg per day and Dabigo - 110 one tablet trice daily. I am feeling numbness in my face and dizziness since yesterday. All tests done were three days back. All are normal. Request a cardiologist to look at the 2D echo test, TMT, and prescription and suggest whether Dabigo - 110 dosage is sufficient or not.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear about your health issues; please do not worry. You will be fine soon, hopefully. I went through your investigation results in detail (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Most of the investigations are within normal limits. Based on the results, the D-dimer (fibrin degradation product) and CT (Calcium) scores are still relatively high. Apart from numbness and dizziness, do you have chest pain, difficulty moving any body part, or leg pain? Dabigo 110 PD is sufficient for now. Best regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you so much for your reply.

After having food in the morning and taking some rest, I am normal now. I have no chest pain and difficulty moving parts or any difficulty in speaking (even before). I am quite normal. Yesterday night I had only one chapati but taken a full dose of Pirfenex (200 mg two tablets) and Dabigo (110 mg one tablet). This was the first time in my whole life taking this much medication. Most of my life, I used only Dolo 650 rarely during fever. I never had a viral fever. And thoroughly disciplined lifestyle. I do not smoke or drink alcohol. And I am a vegetarian or eggetarian. Request you to suggest what we can do for D-Dimers and CT scores. (Pirfenex should be administered gradually and not suddenly, sorry for my opinion by some sources. I am not a medical person but curiously studied some stuff on the internet).

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The Pirfenex (Pirfenidone) and Dabigo (Dabigatran Etexilate) prescribed are due to the high D-Dimer and CT scores. COVID-19 causes injury to the lungs, which can predispose to a condition known as pulmonary fibrosis. Pirfenex will protect him against pulmonary fibrosis, while the Dabigo will help against complications that could arise from a high CT score. Although you might have read differently from another source, I advise he continues with current prescriptions and dosages. It will take time before he recovers completely. I wish you a quick recovery.

Best regards.
