Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old female and noticed a small lump on the left side of my pelvis nearly two months ago, and assumed that it was an ovary maturing for my menstrual cycle. But today I am concerned about my missing period, which was due five days back. I am currently experiencing cramps the way they would come while on my period, but I am not bleeding at all. I would be grateful if you could help me.

Thank you so much.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com,

I understand your concern,

I would like to inform you that internal organs especially ovaries cannot be easily palpable unless there is some pathology (abnormality). Your current problem looks like a cyst or hydrosalpinx. I suggest you not to ignore such things and get the following done.

  1. Abdominal ultrasound scan.
  2. Pelvis ultrasound scan.

These scans help in ruling out the abnormality which can be the reason for delayed periods and pain.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
