Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sexual intercourse on the last week of last month, which was just a day after my menses without using a condom, and he had mistakenly ejaculated inside me. After that, to be on the safer side, I took Unwanted-72 within two hours. Three days later, I got withdrawal bleeding which lasted for about four days with less blood flow than usual. My cycle is around 28 to 30 days, and my periods are late by three days, but I feel period cramps, and there is no bleeding. Am I pregnant? And if yes, then how to confirm?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case, and I understand your concern.

As per your description, you had intercourse on your safe day, so there was no need to take an emergency contraceptive pill unnecessarily. It may affect your menstrual cycle. In your case, there is no chance of getting pregnant. Periods might get delayed by one or two weeks because of hormonal changes, so I suggest you wait for two weeks after your due date. In between, you will get your periods.

Hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
