Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My last periods were 12 days late. I did yoga, exercise and all and then got it after 12 days of my usual date. This has happened for the first time. I have never experienced any issue with my periods. Now the following month, again my periods are delayed by three days. I have been having abdominal cramps and tenderness. Still no signs of menses. Please help. Is there a possibility of being pregnant despite having one cycle of normal periods?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Sometimes, stress, excessive or newly started exercise, overload of work, anxiety, sleeping and eating wrong habits also cause a delay in periods. I suggest you do serum beta hCG test. That can give you a clear picture of the pregnancy status as you are feeling cramps and tenderness and overdue for only three days. Urine pregnancy test might create confusion and at this stage. Ultrasound also could not detect very clearly unless expertise hands. Repeating second-time beta hCG after 48 hours will clear. Either the hormone will increase normally for healthy pregnancy or have suboptimal increase and need intervention.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
