Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My lower right wisdom tooth was removed ten days back. I got my stitches removed three days back. But, I cannot normally open my mouth like before, and sometimes I suffer from earache. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Wisdom tooth extraction often leads to difficulty opening the mouth for quite some time. You need to wait for at least two more weeks for complete healing. To improve the mouth opening, you can start with warm saline gargles at least five to six times a day for a week. This will take care of both the earache and mouth opening. If the symptoms persist after 14 days, you must visit your dentist to rule out any other problems.

Thank you.
