Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from pain in the left ear and lower jaw for the last six months. Sometimes it is paining hard. I am unsure if this is a temporomandibular joint dysfunction or any other problem.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. As per the symptoms mentioned by you, there can be the following possibilities: 1. Firstly, it could be due to temporomandibular joint dysfunction whch can be confirmed by X-ray (preferably a digital X-ray for a clearer picture). 2. Secondly, it could be due to cervical spondylitis. This should be confirmed by X-ray neck and if you have pain while moving the neck. 3. Thirdly, it can be due to toothache, which you must get checked by a dentist. Please confirm with me if you also have these associated symptoms: 1. Pain during swallowing. 2. Pain on movement of the jaw (opening and closing of mouth). 3. Any swelling behind or below the neck. Meanwhile, I suggest you take this medication for symptomatic relief (consult your doctor, discuss with him, and take medicine with their consent). 1. Tablet Signoflam (Paracetamol and Ibuprofen) twice a day after meals. 2. Tablet Nucoxia mr (muscle relaxant) (salt is thiocolchioside) twice a day after meals.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
