Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 25 years old. I have had weak erections for two months. I think it is because of more masturbation so I stopped doing it for 35 days, but still, I am not having erections. I also have a prominent vein on the top and either side of the penis, even when flaccid. I do not smoke or drink. I exercise regularly. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
According to your history, it looks like you have psychogenic erectile dysfunction. Stopping masturbation would not help. The best would be to start a short course of medicines and take cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce the anxiety that has caused this problem.
The vein in the picture looks absolutely normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity), and it is, in fact, a sign of a healthy penis. Remember, it is temporary, and most men face this issue sometimes. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and sleep for seven to eight hours at a stretch. Use lavender aroma in your house to help reduce your anxiety.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
I will follow your advice. How many days can it take to recover? Will the medication cause any dependence?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
It usually takes about two months to recover completely on average. There is no dependence on the medication. However, try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing exercises for a minimum of 30 minutes, eating healthy food, sleeping at least for six to seven hours, and reducing the usage of social media. Cognitive behavioral therapy is also helpful.
I hope this helps.
