Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a male who is new to sex. My first partner is my only experience in sex, and every time we try, my erection cannot keep up and goes flaccid right after foreplay. I could never get myself to climax, and I think it is getting in the way of our relationship. I am not on any current medication, and I would consider myself relatively healthy. I can suspect that my problem could have stemmed from watching too much pornography, although I fear that I could never fix this problem, knowing that this usually happens to men aged 50 and above.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern about your symptoms. According to your complaints, you may have erectile dysfunction (ED). The reason for erectile dysfunction(ED) are:
• Depression.
• Varicocele.
• Fear of failure - having one episode of ED once may make you feel you will end up with ED.
• Low self-esteem (chronic masturbation).
• Smoking and alcohol.
• Negative attitude towards your partner.
• Hormonal issue – thyroid issue, low testosterone.
You need to check Doppler penis, USG (ultrasound sonography) pelvis and scrotum, Blood Pressure, RBS (random blood sugar), Free T3 (triiodothyronine), T4 (thyroxine), and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone). Share more details regarding the above reasons, and we can work on diagnosis and treatment. For a temporary solution, you can use a tablet Mildfil (Tadalafil) 5mg twice a day.
