Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have fever and severe body ache, headache and back pain. The body ache is present since five days and I have a fever from yesterday. My fever reached 103.8 degrees Fahrenheit and then got controlled by Paracetamol. Now, the minimum temperature goes around 101. I am a diabetic patient. I am a 50 year female. I have attached the report, please have a look.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concerns. Presence of high grade fever in a diabetic patient never should be taken lightly and there should be in person physician consultation without delay. As I can see there is a poor diabetic control and evidence of urinary tract infection (attachment removed to protect patient identity), I feel the use of antibiotic is warranted after taking culture and sensitivity of urine as well as blood. Presence of body ache and fever can be explained by urinary tract infection itself and the use of Paracetamol can help in this regards. I request you to see a doctor as soon as possible for prescription of antibiotic. In case, you are not able to see one I suggest you start Ciprofloxacin 500 mg after getting a prescription from a local physician. Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
