Q. How to get rid of fever, cough, sneezing, and an itchy nose?
Hello doctor,
I have been having a fever for the last two days. If I take Crocin, it comes down only for two hours. And along with that, I have a cough, continuous sneezing, and irritation in my nose. Kindly suggest medicines.

I understand your concern. Your symptoms are suggestive of an upper respiratory tract infection. It can be in form of allergic rhinitis or sinusitis. I suggest you investigate with CBC (complete blood count) report to guide you further. You can be prescribed decongestants like Phenylephrine or Levocetirizine for symptomatic relief.
- Avoid excess spicy food intake.
- Steam inhalation three times a day with warm water.
- Salt-added lukewarm water gargle also can be beneficial.
- Drink lots of water.
- You can take Paracetamol for getting relief from the fever.
