Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

However I have a few questions.

1. Is it solid food or liquid that got stuck in the chest?

2. Is there a change in your weight (loss or gain)?

3. Have you felt food particles coming back into your mouth while sleeping or any other time?

4. Do you feel a sour taste in your mouth during the night while asleep?

5. Is this pain in the abdomen constant or has any association with food intake?

Please let me know to suggest better.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for replying.

It feels like something stuck there, and sometimes feels like bubbles or gas. Sometimes, I feel like food is coming back up while lying down. However, the pain in my tummy is not constant. Sometimes it burns after eating. There is no change in my weight.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It seems like an acid peptic disease or gastroesophageal reflux (GERD). It could be an erosion in the stomach or a loosening of the tight junction between the food pipe and the stomach. Reflux is also a possibility considering your weight. However, both can be managed effectively with medications and some diet or lifestyle changes. I suggest you follow the instructions mentioned below,

1. Avoid spicy foods.

2. Avoid eating fat-rich foods like pizza, burgers, or cheese for some time.

3. Avoid frequent tea or coffee consumption.

4. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol intake.

5. I suggest you take a small quantity of food instead of a full stomach, especially at night.

6. Avoid lying down immediately after food intake. Give at least 90 minutes of a gap between lying down and food intake.

7. Try raising your head by keeping a couple of pillows between your shoulder blades while sleeping. This will help prevent the reflux of food particles into the mouth.

8. Try to reduce weight through regular physical exercise and diet. This will help not only your present condition but overall health.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
