Do constant headache and ringing sensation in the ears indicate a brain tumor?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a sharp pain in my head during sleep. It leads to consistent mild headaches and fatigue for 10 to 12 days. I was fine after that. But the headache recurred after two weeks with a ringing sensation in my ears and constant pressure in my ears and nose. Though there are no neurological problems like numbness or seizures, or vomiting, I cannot balance. I feel it is a brain tumor and took an X-ray. I was diagnosed with premature ventricular contractions four years back. Should I take an MRI?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the report attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), X-rays cannot be used as a confirmatory diagnosis. Brain MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is necessary to diagnose conditions like arteriovenous brain malformation or a brain aneurysm. Your symptoms are not suggestive of a brain tumor and are related to thunderclap headaches or ice peak headaches.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
