Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a headache, cold, fever, and an unwell feeling. What should I do? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You seem to be at the start of a cold. However, since symptoms started this morning, it could very well be flu as well. It would be best if you follow the steps mentioned below.

1. First, increase fluid intake and take bed rest for three days to ensure a quick recovery.

2. Tablet Paracetamol 500 mg twice daily. Tablet Kestine (Ebastine) 10 mg once a day for three days.

3. Steam inhalation thrice a day for three days, then as needed. Keep throat moist using frequent liquid dips and lozenges. Plain water gargles every 4 hours for two days, then thrice a day for two days, then as needed.

There is no need for antibiotics now, but if you develop a secondary bacterial infection, you will need one. Follow up after four days in case of worsening symptoms.

If chest congestion develops, get a chest X-ray done and upload.

I hope you find it helpful.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
