Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a problem with my body for a year now. I have a sudden electric shock that radiates to the other body parts or a needle poking my skin or sharp pain. It usually happens when I am in hot weather or when drinking hot water or doing exercise. My body becomes very hot and my ears get hot after having the pain.

One of my body parts will feel this electric pain. I do not know the specific spot. It can happen in my legs, my hands, my shoulders, my head, and maybe in my back. The pain will not stop until I use a cold to stop the pain. I use an ice pack regularly or I move to a colder place to get relief from the pain.

The pain does not happen when I am in a cold place. Sometimes sneezing or feeling anxious too triggers it. Kindly answer my questions and suggest some painkillers. Can I have a painkiller to stop the pain? Does medication help me to have relief? Do I need any lifestyle changes? I started to have this problem after the start of the pandemic.

The sickness came when I started to study in my home and when I was not allowed to move outside. I suspect that these changes cause this problem. During the lockdown, I was sitting on the bed for a whole day without having sunlight or exercise. Do I need any lifestyle changes?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for the brief history and I understand your concern. It can occur due to changes in the blood cells or increased sugar levels in the body. So I would suggest you do blood sugar and CBC (complete blood count). It will help you to diagnose properly and then treatment can be given accordingly. I have answers to your questions. Yes, the pain is due to inflammation and it can be controlled by taking pain medication. Yes, I suggest taking anti-inflammatory drugs such as tablet Diclofenac 50 mg once a day to get improved. Yes, I would suggest you follow a healthy lifestyle which includes lots of fluids, fruits, juices, vegetables, and regular exercise. After doing tests, you can send me the reports. I will check it and let you know further.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
