Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a MBBS graduate doing my junior residency. I have had a high blood pressure of 150/100 mm Hg, heart rate of 90 to 100 beats/minute for the past 4 years. I am taking tablet Cilnidipine 10 mg, tablet Telmisartan 40 mg, tablet Metoprolol XL 50 mg once daily for the past 4 days. My blood pressure was 130/90 mm Hg and heart rate was 75 to 120 beats/minute in the morning and the blood pressure reduced to 115/80 mmHg. I did CBC, FBS, HbA1c, lipid profile, TSH, and kidney function tests. My fasting blood sugar level is 110 mg/dL, LDL level is 163 mg/dL, total cholesterol level is 229 mg/dL, non HDL is 185 mg/dL, and triglyceride is normal. I have dizziness and feel uncomfortable. Should I start tablet Rosuvastatin 10 mg?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your blood pressure measurements are not really bad. I advise you to only measure in the morning after waking up. Start exercising and become fit. I suggest tablet Rosuvastatin 10 mg daily for two weeks.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

Should I continue my other medications?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can continue other medications also.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
