Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I went to another country for a trip. There I had a soapy massage involving naked body-to-body massage, blow job (with a condom), and touching private parts with hands but no intercourse. After a few days, I had intercourse (with a condom) with a different girl. After six days of potential exposure, I got VDRL, TPHA, HSV 1/2 & HIV 1/2 (ELISA) tested from a good laboratory in Delhi. All came negative. After 27 days, I got all the above re-tested. All negatives again. After six weeks of potential exposure, I got all re-tested, where the HIV test included p24. All came negative again. My Questions -

1) Should I get re-tested again? If yes, what are the chances that things will go positive?

2) My doctor never asked me to get an HCV test done. But I read on the internet that HCV is also transferrable. Can you throw some light here?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

1. There are no chances for any change in test results if you go for the same—no need to retest.2. No hepatitis C, but hepatitis B needs to be tested.

Both by ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay):-HBsAg.Anti.HCV (hepatitis C virus).

When you get the test results, coke back and upload the reports in a follow-up question, and I will get back to you with a detailed interpretation.I hope you find it helpful.

Kind regards.
