Why do I have daily headaches, dizziness, lightheadedness and fatigue?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I suffer from daily headaches, dizziness, lightheadedness, and fatigue. My platelet count is 514, and my iron binding capacity is 506. My doctor says it is normal and referred me to hematologist due to the high platelet count. However, all my test results show that things are high or low.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

May I know since how long you are having headache and dizziness? Your platelet count is slightly high. Your Hb level slight low and iron binding capacity increased. So iron deficiency anemia could be the possible cause for dizziness and headache and for that Iron tablets can be prescribed like Ferrous ascorbate.

Platelet count can be high in iron deficiency anemia, post-hemorrhage, inflammation in the body, infection, etc., like secondary cause. Your physical examination should be done. Check your blood pressure and sugar level as well. Your otological ear examination also has to be done that can lead to referred headache and dizziness. So, just now secondary cause can be the possibility for high platelet count by IL (interleukin) 6 release. After Iron therapy, repeat your CBC. Let me know if you are having any bleeding problem.
