What is the treatment for itching and acne on the penis and testis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have acne on my penis and testis, creating itching. Please provide a remedy.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I have reviewed your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). If there is unprotected sex, one must consider sexually transmitted infection.

I suggest you get these tests done:

1. TPHA (Treponema pallidum haemagglutination).

2. HSV (herpes simplex virus) test.

3. Chlyamydia trachomatis IgG.

4. HIV screening test.

5. HbsAg.

6. Urine complete examination.

If the above tests are not positive, it can be a simple bacterial infection. Use an ointment T Bact (Mupirocin) for local application and Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for five days. If there is itching, I suggest you use an ointment Candid-B (Clotrimazole) for local application and a tablet of Cetirizine once a night. Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day, morning and night, and use regular water. Do not use heavy pH soap.

I hope this information will help.

Thanks.
