Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 42-year-old female with a history of joint pain and stiffness (since age 8), primarily in my hands, neck, back, knees, and feet. I have recently developed nodules on the joints of my fingers and toes, and I have lost some strength and agility in my hands. My maternal grandmother was diagnosed with RA (rheumatoid arthritis) in her 40s and was in terrible, misshapen pain at her death (aged 86). My recent test results include these abnormalities: RF-IgG- 7. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. You have sublime inflammatory arthritis as you have

  1. Symptoms.
  2. Family history.
  3. Raised CRP (C-reactive portein).
  4. Raised RF (rheumatoid factor) borderline.
  5. Raised TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).
  6. Low-vitamin D.
  7. Raised cholesterol.

All these point to a metabolic syndrome. Please do ANTi-CCP (cyclic citrullinated peptide), ANA (antinuclear antibodies), and ENA (extractable nuclear antigen) tests to delineate autoimmunity. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
