Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have discomfort in the knees and elbow joints. My bilateral X-ray knees reveal no bony or articular abnormality. However, mild swelling of the distal right quadriceps tendon compared to the left side on lateral view may suggest tendinosis. X-ray and ultrasound of the elbow show moderate common flexor origin tendinopathy. Everyday daily routines are functioning. I am taking Bispro 2.5 and occasionally Cavstat 40 and Candesartan 4 mg. As a result, I Lost 13 kg and aimed at 71 kg.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Your reports are normal (the attachments are removed to protect the patient's identities) for most of the values parameter except for the androgen studies report.

What is your primary question?

Is it about discomfort in the knees and elbow joints?

I hope you find it helpful.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

There is discomfort in both knees and the elbow joints, especially in the right elbow. Also, feeling of mild inflammation and stiffness in the knees and lower legs. Please suggest the medicine for androgen deficiency. Stomach muscles are not relaxed and congested. I have no other stomach discomfort. In the past, I took Somac with some antibiotics.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

On doing the above tests, you must know the cause of discomfort in the right elbow and knee. Lab tests were negative for rheumatoid, autoimmune disease, and inflammatory marker ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) is normal. It means it is not due to any systemic disease; instead, it is musculoskeletal. As mentioned above, guided physiotherapy is essential to lessen the discomfort.

You must visit an experienced physiotherapist to seek guidance regarding the exercise of these muscle groups and practice those exercises to heal tendinopathy and tendinosis. It is helpful to take a pain reliever (only when there is too much discomfort) but do not rely much on such medicine because on stopping the pain reliever, medicine discomfort relapse again.

Do you have episodes of acid reflux or dyspepsia?

I hope you find it helpful.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

The blood test reports of 25-hydroxyvitamin vitamin D and iron levels are within the range but could be better. What medication would you recommend to elevate the levels?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Both values are within the reference range. Hb (hemoglobin) is 147, and serum calcium is 2.39

At this value, I suggest an iron and calcium-rich diet in your daily food.

A few such foods for iron include spinach, non-vegetables, legumes, etc., and for vitamin D, salmon fish, cod liver oil, vitamin D fortified foods, egg yolk, etc.

Since Hb is good, there is no need to take iron tablets at the present moment. Instead, dietary supplements would be enough.

Adequate sun exposure is essential to increase our body's vitamin D levels, as you cannot overdose on vitamin D through sunlight. Remember to cover up or protect your skin if sunlight is for long periods.

Thanks.
