Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Can stopping urine midstream by pressing pelvic muscles cause damage to the prostate glands? Can recurrent UTIs in men affect the prostate gland? Can kegel exercise be practiced while urinating? Performing kegel exercise while urinating by letting urine out, pressing pelvic muscle to stop urine, and repeating the cycle for one to two seconds. Can urine go into the testicles? Recently, I have been urinating less even though I drink adequate water. Can urine output be reduced during summer? Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query, and I can understand your concern.

Stopping urine midstream does not affect the prostate. However, recurrent UTIs (urinary tract infections) may affect the prostate gland. You can practice the kegel exercise. Urine can never go into testicles. In summer, urine output will be less compared to the amount of water you drink. Some amount of water will be evaporated from the body by sweating. I suggest you increase your daily water intake.

I hope this information was helpful.

Thank you.
