Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 22-year-old woman. I am sexually active, and my last sexual activity was a week after my last month period. Usually, my period is regular each month, say with one or two days difference. This month, about four days ago, I have started experiencing a very light period that comes and goes. But now, it is continuous but very light. I have been practicing intermittent fasting and have been under a lot of stress. Is it possible that I might be pregnant? Or is it just a light period? I am really worried. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. The symptoms you have mentioned are not specific of pregnancy. As you mentioned, you have been under stress, and stress commonly leads to menstrual irregularities. Did you have your periods last month in the said duration? If not, and currently you are experiencing bleeding, it is likely the result of delayed periods. Although, if you experience the bleeding for a longer duration, seek medical help. Suppose it stops like your regular periods, then there is no reason to worry. Just observe your regularity of periods for the next couple of months. About the doubt of pregnancy, you can take a urine pregnancy test for that. If you observe a delay in periods for a longer time, then do another pregnancy test and consult a gynecologist in person.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
