Hello doctor,
For the last six months, I am facing this problem and need to clear the doubt. After masturbation, I get swelling in the penis gland in a ring shape. I am not experiencing any pain and swelling goes away in 1 to 2 hours. Does this have any long term effect? I need your advise if any treatment is required or not.

I have gone through your problem and understand your concern. It seems that it is because of masturbation and not associated with any other complaints. Most probably it is not going to have long term consequences. However, it becomes more clear if you have pictures of this at time of swelling or consult a doctor in person at the time of swelling, so that doctors can see it, check it and can give you a clear answer. At this point, it seems that either it is due to friction or some blood collections in tissue that get cleared after a few hours. You can send me a picture of the swollen area.

In these pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity), it is only skin which is slightly more prominent, near gland penis. It is unlikely to cause any long-term problem. Still, if it is causing you any problem then consult a surgeon at the time of swelling to get a clear idea of the problem.
