Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 34 years old, with a height of 5 feet 11 inches and a weight of 198 pounds. I have been experiencing erectile dysfunction for the past three years. I consulted an andrologist who conducted various tests. All results were normal except for low testosterone levels. My doctor suggested that this could be due to varicocele. If I undergo varicocele correction, will it address the issue? Are there other methods to increase my testosterone levels?
Please suggest.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I do not believe that erectile dysfunction is caused by mild varicocele. If the varicocele were moderate to severe, then correcting it might potentially resolve the issue. Regarding low testosterone, varicocele could be a contributing factor. Correcting the varicocele may help restore normal testosterone levels. Another recommended method for addressing low testosterone is the use of testosterone supplements, with the mode of administration based on the current testosterone level.
Additionally, testosterone levels can be improved through a healthy and active lifestyle, which includes regular exercise, stress reduction, and a high intake of dried fruits and nuts.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
