Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am an 18-year-old female. I have had irregular periods. My doctor advised me to take Novelon tablets for 21 days. I took the pills for 21 days, and I got my periods with normal flow and lasted for eight days. Again my period came after one week. Can you please tell me if this is normal or not? Is it fine? Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern. Irregular periods are treated with medications, and sometimes adverse effects of the same can be seen. It is likely because of the medicines. Are you taking the exact amount of dose your doctor has prescribed? Do not take excess or miss the dose? And do regular follow-ups because the doctor changes medicine dose depending on your response. The second time you got your periods this month, how long did it last? It is not expected under ordinary circumstances, but as you are on medication, this can be due to the effect of medicines. I suggest you consult your doctor in-person. As she is aware of your medical history and current medications, she will guide you further with the best management.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
