Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have not had my period for two months and I am worried I may be pregnant. However, I have taken several tests and they have all came back negative. I had cramps also this morning and there was a bit of bleeding so I thought I had got my period but I have had no other signs of bleeding or my period during the day.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Have you done blood pregnancy test? Serum beta hCG? If no, then first better to have serum beta hCG so you can have clear idea of your pregnancy status. Have you previously also observed irregular periods, abnormal hairs growth, sudden weight gain? Then it could be PCO. If pregnancy test negative then cramps due to hormonal imbalance. In case of negative pregnancy test have menstrual induction (tablet Primolut N 10 mg twice daily for seven days and then wait for bleeding for 1 to 2 weeks) and do blood hormonal tests such as serum testosterone, serum progesterone, serum prolactin, serum insulin, FSH (follicular stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone), thyroid function test on day 2 of periods. In case of positive feedback pregnancy test, have 2 tests of serum beta hCG with an interval of 48 hours. If it shows increase more than 60% then it is normal growing pregnancy. If it shows increase less than 60 % then it is ectopic (pregnancy outside the uterus), alarming. If it shows decrease it is a miscarriage.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
