Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am an 18-year-old male. I masturbated for the first time when I was 12, and I continued it daily. I was aware that this is harmful, so I stopped and started restricting myself, but I was unable to do so. However, I made a change and started doing it once a week. Three years ago, I used an ayurvedic medicine, which is used for nightfall. I think it decreases chemicals in my brain because my penis was not erecting during the medicinal period. I used it for one month, and this helped me to stop masturbation. But now a new problem occurred, nightfall which was not so big. By thinking "do not dream too much" I decrease the frequency of nightfall. But now here is a big problem and my real issue starts. I am doing masturbation while I am sleeping for the last three to four months. While I am sleeping I do not know how, but I become partially awake and do it. I do not think anything at that time. I cannot do anything, but I just wake up, masturbate, and sleep again. Even sometimes, it was becoming so worse as I am doing it below a pillow or with a bedsheet, and my penis got some minor damage like scratches, etc. Then I tried a new thing, I started to tie my hands with a rope so that my hands cannot reach my penis. I tried many things, like tying my hands and legs also, but I masturbate by sleeping upside down. Now I am frustrated. What should I do? If possible then please solve it here. Somehow if I reached out to a doctor then how he will treat it?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

I can understand your situation. First, remember one thing and learn that masturbation is not wrong unless you overdo it. Masturbation is normal and it is an age-related change and a basic need for every human being just like eating food and drinking water. If you do masturbation once or twice a week then it is normal. If you do not do masturbation, then you will have nightfall. In men, there is constant semen production from around 14 years of age, and keeps accumulating in the body. If it does not get space to come out of the body, then there will be nightfall. Masturbation is like doing sex. You need a sex partner, but you are satisfying yourself without a masturbation partner. So do not force or punish yourself. Just keep yourself calm. Stay away from erotic material and pornography. Do meditation and keep your thoughts calm. Your problem will solve once you get married or start doing sex.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you want some help.

Thank you.
