Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

One of my family members have recently been diagnosed with oral cancer. I would like to know how much dangerous it is. The final report of lower lip biopsy showed well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The patient is having sugar and BP problem. And for that, he is on Glycomet GP-1 and Tazlac. Please advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Squamous cell carcinomas of the lip rank as the prevailing malignant tumors within the oral cavity. Typically, their primary treatment involves surgical excision, although alternative approaches like radiotherapy and topical cytostatic creams are also considered, and a combination of methods might be employed based on factors like tumor location, extent of spread, and the oncologist's discretion. The five-year and ten-year survival rates stand at 75% and 50%, respectively, for overall surveillance. Well-differentiated carcinomas tend to exhibit a more favorable surgical response.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
