Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have pain in the gums at the back of my wisdom teeth. The gum appears swollen and red. The food particles get stuck on the gums, and I have an unpleasant smell in my mouth. I applied clove oil around the gums to relieve pain. Can you prescribe medications to help with the pain and swelling until I consult a dentist?

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

In a condition called pericoronitis, the gums around the wisdom teeth are swollen and painful. The underlying wisdom teeth may have dental caries. I suggest you use a mouthwash of H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) 2 % and consult a dentist to evaluate the condition. For prescribing medications, kindly mention your weight in kilograms.

I hope this helps you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
