Why do I have loss of sensation after circumcision?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 29-year-old unmarried man. My penile foreskin was tight, so I underwent circumcision 50 days ago. Prior to the circumcision, I had no issues, but since the procedure, I have lost sensation. Even when watching pornography, I am unable to ejaculate.

Could you please advise me?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern about your symptoms. Post-surgical changes can take some time to resolve. Other potential factors could include stress, depression, fear of failure, low self-esteem (possibly related to chronic masturbation), homosexuality, religious constraints, long-term illness, a negative attitude towards your partner, hormonal issues, or long-term medication use. If you can provide more details, we can work through it together.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

I do not have any of the reasons you mentioned in your response. While watching pornography, I am relaxed and stress-free, but I still cannot ejaculate. I have tried several times to achieve ejaculation after the circumcision but have not experienced the same sensation I had before. Consequently, I have stopped trying. If this continues, I will inevitably become stressed.

I kindly request your advice.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Even when you watch pornography and masturbate, you are unable to ejaculate. Please confirm whether you are able to get an erection. If you are unable to achieve an erection, we may need to consider recent hormonal imbalances. If this issue has occurred intermittently in the past, it could indicate an obstruction, and further investigation may be necessary. If you have already undergone any investigations, please share the results.

If you cannot achieve an erection at all, it is important to investigate further and consult with the surgeon who performed your circumcision. It would be beneficial if the surgeon is a urologist. Did you find any reason for the tightness of your skin? Was it a condition present from birth, or did you notice it recently? If you noticed it recently and underwent the procedure, is there any reason related to your diabetes (if you had any investigations done, please share).

Please reply to my questions so I can guide you better.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

I am unsure about the exact meaning of an erection, but when I watch porn, my penis becomes hard and enlarges, though ejaculation no longer occurs as it did before my circumcision. Previously, I could ejaculate within ten minutes of watching porn, but now it has completely stopped. I did not have any issues with ejaculation before the surgery. Since the surgery, I have not been able to achieve the same level of sensation needed to ejaculate.

I consulted the urologist who performed the surgery, and he said everything went well. He suggested that if I am unable to ejaculate, I should see an andrologist. I am frustrated. My foreskin was tight from birth, and I could not fully masturbate because the skin would not retract completely. The doctor had mentioned that I might experience pain during sex after marriage, which is why I proceeded with the circumcision.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It seems this may be a chronic issue and there is no need to worry. Have you used any medications before for this problem? You might want to try dietary supplements, which work well. Take one every night. It is a herbal preparation, and you should start noticing changes within two weeks. If you still experience issues, I can prescribe allopathic medications with minimal side effects.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks for using icliniq, and have a nice day.
