Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had acid reflux from six years old. In my teens I had a lot of stress after and I regurgitated every day for many years. They did an endoscopy when I was 17 years old and said I had gastroparesis. At about 25 yeas old I stopped regurgitating. I did not have many symptoms in the last ten years. I eat a very plain diet. Still now I will regurgitate if I eat ice cream or something else. But I am very careful about my diet now. I went to an ENT for something else, which was a non-issue but he said I have a severely red throat and suggested a gastro. Can this be due to the damage caused in 30 years. I already eat very healthy diet, and I do not smoke and I am thin. What are my options? Should I do surgery. I am very scared I have not taken medication. ENT suggested some sort of medicine that I have not picked up yet. Is this because of COVID?. I had COVID in august. It was mild and I was vaccinated. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It may be due to hyperacidity and acid reflux. So nothing to worry and not related to COVID (coronavirus disease). That is usually related to lifestyle and food habits, anxiety, stress, and lack of sleep. So continue workout and avoid anxiety and stress. Take good sleep at night. I suggest you to use symptomatic medicines for time being.

1) Capsule Pantoprazole and Domperidone once daily before breakfast.

Surgery is only indicated when you are not responding to medical treatment .

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Do you think I should be concerned about cancer because I have had this since I was a child. It started when I was 5 years old (it coincides with when I started school and I skipped kindergarten). I do have an anxious personality and I am particularly stressed right now. My mother is having health issues. It seems like I have such an extreme version of acid reflux. If I drink a cup of tea I can now feel a little acid come up. It does seem worsen lately. I did not notice anything really until the last few months. I stopped regurgitating in my mid 20's. I am really scared. Do you think acupuncture would help?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is not cancer. You have already done an endoscopy. Do regular exercise and meditation and yoga. Yes, acupuncture can help.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I did an endoscopy at age of 17, and I am a 36 - year-old now. I usually do exercise but I froze my legs last month. So I was waiting for healing of my leg to start up again. I do not do meditation or yoga. I am very stressed right now. My mother is having health issues. Can the damaged tissue heal even if it is been going on for a long time?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have a pain feeling when I touch in the middle of my sternum. What is that? Also ENT doctor prescribed capsule Omprazole. What will that do ? And is it safe to consume the drug?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Jagdish Singh

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It may be due to muscular pain. Yes, Omeprazole is a safe drug.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
