Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was diagnosed with scabies three weeks ago. I also have eczema. I used Permethrin cream on my hands and the blisters. All the red blisters over my body are healing, and I have no itchiness. My hands still have a few red bumps, but they are smaller. My palms and sides of my fingers are still healing from the peeling skin from the blisters. Is that normal?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. It is eczema that can happen because of scabies. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Apply ointment containing Betamethasone and Mupirocin twice daily on the rash.
  2. Take a tablet of Levocitrizine 5 mg in the evening for itching.
  3. Avoid direct contact with detergents.
  4. Keep hands well moisturized.
  5. Avoid sanitizers and other allergens as much as possible.
  6. Use mild soap for washing hands.
  7. Always moisturize your full hand with a moisturizer.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
