Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have bumps on my scrotum, and they cause itching. They also cause discomfort, and I cannot sleep because of them. I have also consulted a doctor, and he has given me Metaz cream, tablet Cetjust and tablet Candycef LB 200 mg. He told me that in these 20 days, this would subside. I have been using this cream for eight days now, but I do not see any improvement. I will attach the reports if required for your reference. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for writing in, and I understand your concern. In my opinion, you got scabies, a condition caused by a mite (Sarcoptes scabiei). And it cannot be seen by naked eyes, but only under the microscope. The symptoms include intense itching, which worsens at night, and bumps are seen all over but more prominent between fingers, around the axilla, and bumps over the male genitalia are almost always diagnostic. I suggest you take the following medications and follow the instructions. Use Permite (Permethrin 5 %) cream. This needs to be applied all over the body, below the neck at night, leave it overnight, and take a hot water bath in the morning. Use the whole 30 gm tube in a single application. This should be repeated after one week for a complete response. So take two tubes of 30 gm each. It would help if you also washed the clothes and bedsheets, used in last three days, in hot water. Take Tablet Allegra (Fexofenadine) 180 mg twice a day. Apply Momate-F (Mometasone Furoate and Fusidic acid) cream on the bumps twice a day. Take Tablet Ivermectin 12 mg weekly for two weeks. So take one tablet today and repeat after one week. Please note that though you will see improvement in itching and redness soon enough, complete clearance might take 3 to 4 weeks. Take these for two weeks initially, then follow up with me. Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
