Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

We have been trying to conceive for the past 3 years. My wife's report is normal. My semen analysis report is as follows. Volume 0.02 ounce, appearance grayish white, liquefaction 60 minutes (20 - 60), viscous, pH 8.0, morphologically 03% (4 - 100), abnormal 97%, progressive motility 26% (31 - 100), non-progressive motility 42%, non-motile 32% (0 - 30), sperm agglutination not seen, WBC 0-1 per hpf (0 - 5), sperm count 40.5 x 10^6 (20 - 140) and absolute sperm count 324 x 10^6 per ejaculation (40 - 280).

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

At present, are you on any medication? Did you have any other tests apart from semen examination? Your report shows decrease motility of sperms. Otherwise, all other parameters look fine. Decreased motility can be due to many reasons including smoking and alcohol. I suggest you avoid smoking and alcohol strictly. The result of semen examination is highly variable. So, I suggest you repeat semen examination after two weeks with three days of sexual abstinence before semen examination. You should also get an ultrasound of the scrotum with Doppler. Do not worry; your semen parameters are not very bad.

    Treatment plan

L-carnitine, Coenzyme Q10, Zinc oxide and Lycopene tablet, all combinations in one table. I suggest the tablet two times a day in the morning and evening for 15 days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicine with consent.
