Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from muscle tears in both my shoulders for the past three to four years. I got my MRI scan, which confirms a shoulder tear. I have tried everything like physiotherapy, acupuncture, exercises, etc., but nothing has worked. One of my doctors advised me to go for a laser operation and asked me to rest my shoulder for 6 to 8 weeks which is practically impossible. Then, I heard about the targeted drug delivery systems. Please give your advice.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Have you had an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and a complete clinical assessment of the tear? Which muscle is torn? And what about the gap at the tear site, duration, location, and size? Have you tried out steroid injection, and what has been the response? As far as targeted drug delivery system, I am unaware of such a procedure. The exact diagnosis and what drug you are looking to inject is another question to be answered before a drug delivery system is explored.

Thank you.
