Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 39 years old. My skin became dull and sagging. I always had dark circles, but now my eyes look sunken and skin especially around the eyes has become dry, loose, and fine lines are appearing. My hemoglobin level is 11 g/dL. I have no other health issues, and I had a baby two years back, after that my skin sagging becomes more. Kindly suggest some remedy.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Use Nexglow cream at night for 20 days or Kojic cream at night for 20 days (on dark circles). Take tablet Limcee 500 mg once daily for 30 days. Use Ahaglow face wash twice daily for 20 days. Wash your face gently. For skin rejuvenation, other options are chemical peeling (Glycolic acid 15 percent peel for dark circles, derma fillers for wrinkles, and Botox injection for wrinkles). Any history of photosensitivity? Is your skin type dry or oily? Any history of atopy or allergies? Is there excess exposure to sun? Please reply.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Yes, my skin is sensitive to sunlight. Skin is oily due to humid weather these days, otherwise, it is dry. Kindly suggest a cream for daily use too. I do not wish to go for fillers, etc.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Use photostable sunscreen four hourly even indoors for 10 days and 30 minutes before going outdoors for 20 days. Apply sunscreen with sun protection measures like wearing broad-brimmed hats and full clothes. Apply sunscreen daily even on cloudy days. If it does not suit your skin or greasy or uncomfortable revert back, I will change your sunscreen. Use sunscreen which suits your skin. Use Ahaglow face wash twice daily for 20 days (for oily skin) or Cetaphil cleanser twice daily for 20 days (for dry skin face wash). Emoderm cream is a good emollient that will make skin soft and smooth and will avoid dryness. You can apply when the skin is dry. Avoid harsh soap and long baths.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My husband recently recovered from severe COVID-19. He was hospitalized for around a month. Was discharged three months back and since then he has been on antifibrotic (Nintena) and a few multivitamins like polybion. Lately, for 20 to 25 days he has been having extreme hairfall. Kindly suggest a remedy. Is it a post-COVID effect or a side effect of medications? Earlier there was no hair fall or baldness issues. He has no other health issues. Please suggest a remedy.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is telogen effluvium with hair thinning due to a recent illness. In acute T.effluvium hair follicles go to the resting phase. Abrupt onset of increased hair shedding involves the entire scalp. Causes are physical illness, stressful episodes, mental stress, and low protein intake. It is self-limiting and recovers in a few months.

It will revert to normal in the next 3 to 6 months.

  1. Eat eggs, fish, curd, milk, lentils, chicken, pulses, walnuts, almonds, and dates.
  2. A protein-rich diet is essential for hair growth.
  3. Avoid stress.
  4. Stay relaxed.
  5. Eat fresh fruits and green veggies.
  6. Stay hydrated.
  7. Nutrition is key to healthy hair.
  8. Zinc capsules 110 mg once daily at night after food for 1 month.
  9. Tablet Perfectile (biotin or omega acid) twice daily in the morning and evening for 1 month.

I hope this helps.
