Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 25 year old female, and I have red spots or blemishes on my neck, chest area and left cheek. They do not seem to be itchy. I have had the spots on neck or chest for some time now, and dermatologist advised that it is because of black clothes, but that does not seem to be the deal here. Kindly help.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Sometimes it is filled with watery pus or just red blemishes. I do not have any dandruff or sun allergies. It is only in the mentioned areas. I never had acne just few spots on face from time to time. I have not used contraceptives, and I am not using any medicine. I have changed my diet since new year, stopped using lactose, no alcohol, no sugar - hoping it would help, but issue is still there. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The distribution of lesions appear like the acne distribution. I would suggets the following:

  1. Wash the face twice or thrice in a day.
  2. Use gentle cleanser like Cetaphil.
  3. Avoid any harsh soaps or irritants or cosmetics which may cause allergies.
  4. Avoid any coloring agents or dyes to hairs.
  5. Use antidandruff shampoo or lotions like Ketoconazole 2 percent.
  6. Apply topical Benzoyl Peroxide gel 2.5 percent in the night, after gentle face wash.
  7. Use topical antibiotic cream like Clindamycin or Erythromycin in the morning.
  8. Use topical sunscreens during daytime.
  9. Have a good protein rich balanced diet.

Observe for exacerbations with food (especially fatty or carbohydrate rich diet), sun exposure, dyes, coloring agents or cosmetics. Observe for few days to weeks. Consult a dermatologist if it worsens or does not help you.

I hope this helps.

Thank you
