Is seronegative spondyloarthropathy curable?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had seronegative spondyloarthropathy for the past year. I have been taking medicines like Saaz since last month. I am having pain in my spine and pelvic girdle to the femur.

I am also having morning stiffness. I have doubts that these medicines will lead to side effects. Is this disease curable?

Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

In seronegative spondyloarthropathy, non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can be prescribed. This drug will help relieve pain and inflammation. Stiffness and pain are common symptoms of spondyloarthropathy.

Kindly mention the content of this drug. I think this does not contain the NSAIDs group of drugs. Physiotherapy is also beneficial. Anti-tumor necrosis factor drugs are also other options for the treatment of spondyloarthropathy. I will advise you to consult a spine and joint orthopedic surgeon for examination and then get a prescription accordingly.

I hope your concern was solved.

Take care.
