Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had PCOD and took homeopathy medicine, after which my periods started getting regular. I got engaged about two months back and I got married last month. I took pills during my engagement and marriage time to advance my periods. I got my period on 14th each month after taking the pills. This month, I did not use any pill but had unprotected sex twice after the 21st day. I have slight cramps, but no sign of periods. Should I be worried about getting pregnant or is it stress and restlessness that is delaying them? I am very tensed. Please answer.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please get a urine pregnancy test done with early morning urine sample to ensure that you are not pregnant. It depends upon when you have ovulated. If the pregnancy test is negative, then there is nothing to worry about. Usually, the cramps and discomfort could be because of stress and strain, anxiety, work pressure, change of place, a change in climate or hormonal changes.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I took a urine pregnancy test twice, once in the afternoon and once in the early morning and both the results were negative. Since I was late by seven days, I started taking Primolut N after consulting a gynecologist. She said that the delay could be due to irregular diet and stress due to the wedding. She has prescribed Primolut N for this month. What should I do for my next period to be regular? Is there a way to plan for not getting pregnant with irregular periods? We do not have a plan until next two years at least. I had no issues when using homeopathy medicines for one year. I used to get regular periods with enough bleeding. Should I continue the same for the next year? The doctor had said that the course might vary from 1.5 to 2 years depending on the person.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Regular exercise, lifestyle modification, healthy and fiber rich diet and weight reduction will help you regularize your periods.Since you do not want a pregnancy, you can go for various contraceptive options like oral contraceptives, intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD) or depot injections. You and your husband sit down, discuss and decide as to which option you want to choose, all are equally effective. If you are comfortable using homeopathy medicines, as it is being effective, then you can go ahead with the guidance of your homeopathy specialist.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
